Post match review

Southern Combination League Division 2

VILLA 1

ST FRANCIS RANGERS 4

Quite frankly a horrible performance. I don't know if the new surroundings and the pressure of getting off to a good start at our new home took the focus off the game plan, but we simply did not get going today at all. Even going one nil up from the penalty spot mid way through the half (courtesy of Aaron Macmillan following a trip on Gabriel Robinson) was somewhat against the run of play. Rangers got their deserved equaliser right on half time... another ball lost in our defensive third of the pitch and this time we were finally punished. And that was our problem all half, conceding possession in dangerous areas!  And despite some stern words at half time from Kev and I, nothing really changed. We conceded two quick goals both from our own doing and dispute some huff and puff in the middle of the second half and some half chances the game was killed off with a fourth on the counter. Huge credit goes to Del and the St Francis lads, they worked super hard and quite frankly wanted the win more than us on the day. We've been missing a few the past few weeks, the Uni lads for example will be back. So in terms of timing its some much needed reinforcements as all 3 games so far have been below par.
